How weighted GPA math works at North Texas

Most University of North Texascourses divide your grade into weighted categories. Homework might count for 20%, midterms 30%, the final 40%, and participation 10%. Your grade is the sum of each category's percentage times its weight, divided by the total weight of graded categories.

The tricky part: ungraded categories (like a final you haven't taken) drop out of the current-grade calculation. That means a 95 now can slide to a B once the final counts. This calculator shows you both numbers.

Why your Canvas grade is often misleading

Canvas at North Texas calculates your grade based only on assignments that have been graded. Future exams and projects aren't included yet, so the number you see now isn't your final grade. This calculator lets you model what happens when the rest of the semester counts.
